Who We Are

Special Soaks is a small business started by Daniel Reis (mostly us, his parents!) Daniel is our special kid, now an adult, who has autism. He has always loved to take baths. We learned early on that when we added Epsom salts or essential oil to the bath, it had a profound calming effect on him, and he would sleep well.

We started Special Soaks as a business that Daniel and other young adults with autism can work in. We blend our bath salts and make our bath bombs with love, and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

We provide meaningful work for young adults with autism, and we donate 15% of all proceeds to local organizations that support children and adults with autism. Enjoy your Special Soaks!

Daniel Reis

Daniel has always been a fun guy. For all his struggles to communicate, and the many times that he's had meltdowns, Elmo has always brought him joy. He's probably had 20-30 different Elmos over the years, and the current one travels with him as much as possible. With headphones (connected to YouTube on his iPad) and Elmo, a long car ride is so much easier!

Now that he is finished with school and has graduated to adulthood, we are all happy he is able to help make bath salts and bath bombs for others to enjoy. He loves them himself!
